Matt Garcia, Community Relations Director

Where Energy Meets Insights

Matt Garcia has been the Regional Director for the Texas Southern Gulf Coast at the Texas Oil and Gas Association (TXOGA) since August 2019. In this role, he advocates for the industry through strategic stakeholder outreach and facilitates communication between the public, the Association, and the broader oil and natural gas industry. TXOGA represents all facets of Texas's oil and gas industry, with its members responsible for approximately 90% of the state's crude oil and natural gas production, refining capacity, and pipelines.

Before joining TXOGA, Matt was a key member of the External Affairs team at the Port of Corpus Christi, the top U.S. export port for crude oil. He is actively involved in the community, serving on multiple boards, including the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Bend and the TAMUCC Alumni Association. Matt also holds a BA in Communication from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, where he resides with his wife Rachel, daughter Atlas, and son Marlo.
